Children and young people in the library
Every Thursday afternoon during term time - 2.30 to 3.00pm.
In themed sessions this year children have listened to a wide range of stories and enjoyed activities such as afternoon tea, growing salad, sports relief and pancake day. No need to book - just come along and join in the fun!
A bright and colourful corner of the library is especially furnished for children, with toys, books, colouring pencils, cushions and a large stock of lovely new books.
Pop in on your way to or from picking up the children from school - they can enjoy themselves with the toys or choosing books while you have a coffee with other mums - it's warmer than nattering at the school gate!
We have a growing selection of books and DVDs for teens located in the main library area.
Dunchurch Infant School
Classes from the school visit the library regularly, to choose books and find out what libraries are all about. This has resulted in several children becoming new library members, and developing a keen interest in reading both story and factual books.
We are pleased to be able to offer the Bookstart Bear Club again. Every time your child takes out a book or visits the library for storytime they will get a bear stamp in their passport - collect ten stamps for a certificate!
The Club is open to all children from birth until they start school. See the Bookstart page for more information.
